Best Updos to Impress Your Guests this Thanksgiving
Planning a gathering for this upcoming Thanksgiving holiday? If so, then of course you want to make sure your guests have a great time by wowing them with some excellent food and entertainment. You also want to look your best, but with all the planning involved in throwing a Thanksgiving gathering, where will you find the time to pull off an impressive hair style? Believe it or not, you can impress your guests with a few beautiful updos that take just a few minutes to pull off—but look like you spent hours doing.
It doesn’t get any easier than the tuck-and-cover. This classic, elegant look serves a dual purpose, because when you take your hair down from this beautiful updo, you’ll also have a headful of bouncy curls with minimal effort. For this updo, all you need is a stylish headband, a comb, and your favorite hairspray.
Start by putting the headband on, making sure it’s placed over your hair. Then, working in small sections, twist and wrap your hair under and around the headband. When finished, hold it all in place with a spritz of hairspray, and you’re ready to entertain!
Who doesn’t love a nice, elegant bun for a special occasion? This unique take on the traditional bun is very feminine, allowing you to keep your hair out of your face while still being able to see the bun from the front. All you’ll need to achieve this look is a quality hair tie, some bobby pins, hairspray, and a brush.
Begin by choosing a side on which to part your hair; this is the side where the bun will be placed. Once parted, tease your hair at the crown and sweep your bangs to one side. Then, section your hair off into a top and bottom portion. Pull the bottom portion into a messy bun and pin in place. Finally, take your top section of hair, twist it, and wrap it around the bun you just created. Hold in place with extra-hold hairspray. Voila!
Last but not least, the classic chignon is a favorite for pulling off a prim and proper look. Chignons are notorious for being difficult to do, but by following a few simple steps, you’ll have yours done in no time. And all you need are some bobby pins, small elastic hair bands, and hairspray!
Start by pulling the top section of your hair into an elastic band, leaving some space in the middle. Tease the ponytail you just created with a comb to create some volume, then secure the bottom few inches of your hair with another elastic band. Now, carefully pull this second pony tail up and through the space you left in the center of the first pony tail. Loop it back through the bun and then secure with lots of bobby pins and hairspray for a beautiful, classy look.
Now, which one of these deceptively simple updos will you rock for your Thanksgiving gathering?
