Which Injectable Treatment is Right for You?

Microdermabrasion Benefits - Bellezza Spa

Injectable treatments have exploded in recent years, leaving consumers with a dizzying array of choices to combat minor and major wrinkles. Before you book a Miami spa service, explore the different types of injectable treatments in depth to learn more about which type of facial filler is right for your needs.

Botox

We can’t talk about injectables without mentioning Botox, arguably the most popular injectable product. Botox also acts in a unique manner, by temporarily paralyzing the muscles underneath your skin that cause wrinkles. When it’s been overdone, Botox can leave you looking emotionless, so the trick is to use just enough of this product to smooth and soften the facial skin while still allowing you the ability to express your feelings.

Botox treatments usually last 3-4 months; you’ll need to have regular injections to maintain the effects of this treatment. We recommend Botox if you have crow’s feet or other wrinkles around the eye area.

Dermal facial fillers

As their name suggests, dermal fillers actually inflate the layers of your skin, pushing up the wrinkled tissue to smooth it out. This type of injectable works well for deep wrinkles, such as those around the corners of the mouth. Some types of dermal fillers also promote the growth of collagen, so you have that “youthful glow” again.

Dermal fillers vary in their time frame and can last for a few months or up to several years in some cases. Artefill is a particularly interesting dermal filler that is capable of lasting for four to five years, in some cases.

Hyaluronic acid facial filler

If you are new to injectables and looking for a natural, gentle treatment, we recommend you consider a hyaluronic acid treatment. This strange sounding compound is actually a part of your skin that is responsible for maintaining that shine or glow that helps you look vibrant. A hyaluronic acid filler not only replenishes your skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid, it also plumps up the area underneath the wrinkles to smooth out the skin.

Restylane and Juvederm are two of the better known hyaluronic acid fillers, although there are others. Results typically last for one year. We recommend this treatment for light to moderate wrinkles around the eyes and mouth.

Getting injectable treatment is a major step, and one that should be carefully considered beforehand. Simple cost should never be a concern when selecting a facial filler; instead, you should focus on the type of injectable that meets your needs and on finding a trusted professional to perform the treatment.

When done at a professional facility, like our spa, an injectable can restore your self-confidence and make you look and feel your best every day. Our spa staff will consult with you about these and other options that may be right, to help you make a decision about which type of injectable treatment will best meet your needs.
