Go From Fine to Defined!
So you’re thinking that life could be easier. Less hassle. Less time to get ready. Maybe less time applying makeup…
Solution: Permanent Makeup.
With permanent makeup, your eyeliner never, ever runs, your eyebrows always look wow and you wake up with defined lips that are ever so slightly pink (or red or whatever hue you choose – your color can be custom blended to perfectly suit you!).
Permanent makeup is basically the art of tattooing the body such that the effect appears to be makeup (i.e. eyeliner, eyebrows, lip liner, etc.). It can be a fantastic solution for those who don’t want to battle with makeup every day, for those who are constantly complaining that their eyes are not suitably defined, that their lips don’t have enough color, etc. The solution is simple and easy and only requires only a trip or two to the salon/spa.
Not only is permanent makeup used to enhance features (eyes, lips, eyebrows, etc.), but it is also used in those cases where an individual has been injured or has suffered a medical complication or a bout with an illness or disease. Chemotherapy and radiation treatments can cause eyebrow loss. Permanent makeup can be used to restore or define the breast’s areola after breast surgery and it is often employed where there is scarring or skin pigmentation issues (vitiligo, etc.). Permanent makeup is a simple yet effective solution that replicates the particular feature and more importantly, renews confidence.
Some of us have physical ailments that render makeup application frustrating and sometimes impossible. For these individuals, permanent makeup is a saving grace, as color is applied to an area to more clearly define it or to simulate natural pigmentation where pigmentation has been lost due to surgery, illness or injury.
At Bellezza, we refer to these makeup treatments as “Permanent Makeup,” but you might have heard these techniques referred to as “dermapigmentation,” “micropigmentation” or “cosmetic tattooing.”
Permanent makeup can be applied in various ways, including the traditional tattoo or coil machine, the pen or rotary machine or a hand application method. The process generally includes an initial consultation, choosing of pigment, pigment application and a follow-up visit for adjusting the shape and/or density of the pigment, if necessary.
Permanent makeup – if used with soft, natural hues and applied with a light hand – can go unnoticed and appear very natural. Or if the client chooses darker hues of pigment and if the pigment is applied liberally, the results can be more dramatic. Be sure that the esthetician performing the application is extremely knowledgeable about the permanent makeup process and that she/he has significant experience. Also discuss your goals for the service and insure that the esthetician is well aware of the exact results you want to achieve.
Note that after the makeup application, the design may appear dark, but within a few days, the color softens, as the outer layers of skin sloughs in the healing process.
